It is noted that for the DPRK, such a step may have a purely pragmatic purpose to test the effectiveness of its missile systems directly on the battlefield.
Defense Express writes about this with reference to a video that appeared on the Internet and recorded another echelon of weapons and military equipment from the DPRK, which was allegedly filmed in the Tyumen region.
“If the DPRK really transferred its Pukguksong-2 ballistic missiles to the Russian Federation, then for North Korea, such a step may have a purely pragmatic purpose to test the effectiveness of its missile systems directly on the battlefield, given that today specialists note the low effectiveness of other North Korean weapons, namely KN-23, which the Russian Federation actually uses as a weapon of terror,” the publication says.
Missile Pukguksong-2 or KN-15 – what is known about itIt is noted that the Pukguksong-2/KN-15 missile was created under conditions of increased secrecy. According to unofficial data, development of the Pukguksong-2 missile could start as early as 2014.
According to the publication, in open sources you can find information about the range of up to 1,200-1,300 km, although, according to other data, it can be from 2,000 to 3,000 km.
It is also indicated that the Pukguksong-2 missile is a land-based variant of the Pukguksong-1 ballistic missile, which is launched from submarines.
Pukguksong-2 is a solid propellant two-stage rocket. Its dimensions are approximately 9 m long and 1.5 m in diameter.
We will remind, earlier it was reported that North Korea transferred additional self-propelled guns “Koksan” to Russia.
