Frame from the movie “Steve” / Screenshot from YouTubeThe Netflix strimination service showed the first trailer for Steve’s social drama (Steve), which was played by the Oscar Licheder Killian Murphy (“28 days later”, “Dunkirk”, “Oppenheimer”, series “Sharp Carts”).
The film, whose events unfold in one day, tells about a man named Steve – a school principal for boys with social and behavioral problems.
The plot was based on Max Porter’s story “Shy”, published in 2023. She talks about a 16-year-old teenager named Shii, raising childhood and maturity, cruelty and compassion, art and despair.
In addition to Murphy, the movie was played by Jay Lycurg (“Batman”, Titani series), Emily Watson (“Equilibrium”, “Little Things of Life”, series “Chornobyl”, “Dune: Prophecy”) and rapper Little Simz.
The film was filmed by Belgian director Tim Milanta, who made a previous film with Killian Murphy – also the social drama “Life Life”.
The world premiere of the tape will be held at the International Film Festival in Toronto in September 2025, after which Steve will be shown in the selected cinemas in a number of countries. For a wide audience, it will be available since October 3, 2025 on Netflix.
