Photo press serviceTV channel 2+2 will show the mystical four -part detective “Evil Spirits” with the stars of Ukrainian cinema – Alexander Yateniuk and Alexander Yarema in the lead roles. Their heroes will have to unravel the ball intrigue. The investigator from Kiev Markian Sich (Oleksandr Yatseniuk) after the injury will come to rehabilitation in the picturesque Carpathian village of Yasen. But he can only dream of tranquility: in the same place there are mysterious deaths one by one. Local district district (Alexander Yarema) wants to close the case faster, and the villagers are accused of all evil spirits and mysterious Maru. Markian joins the investigation and finds out that everyone is hiding the truth, having their secrets and afraid to talk about the past. What really happens in a quiet Carpathian village, will investigators find common ground and will they be able to bring everyone to clean water?
The preparatory period, with the search for locations, deep research of traditions and national color, lasted almost half a year. In addition, the actors studied the Carpathian dialect, they communicated with local residents. During the shooting, Alexander Yarema had already talked as if he was born in the Carpathians.
The series was filmed in the summer of 2024 in Kiev and in the National Nature Park “Skole Beskydy”, located in the Lviv region. Therefore, viewers will be able to admire the picturesque landscapes with ancient mountains, age forests, waterfalls and mountain streams.
To get to the place of shooting on the rocks, the actors and the group had to overcome a few kilometers of steep ascents daily. During the shooting, there was no mysticism. By the way, actor Oleksa Gorodenko, who organically embodied the role of Molfar, said that in real life he is known on it. He even performed some rites to make the shoot as designed.
“It is not just a detective story built on the contrast of two main characters. Each tape character is as much as possible. There are no minor. They are all involved in mysterious events, know something and hide something, holding in tension to the finale. In addition, we have organically added to the series of the folklore. Experience, because I was born in those region, also Alexander Yatseniuk – a native of Lviv region.
The main characters were played by Honored Artist of Ukraine Oleksandr Yarema and Oleksandr Yatseniuk, familiar to the audience 2+2 according to the series “Cold”. Also in the tape were Ivan Zalusky, Yana Klyuchk, Isabel Merkulov, Dmitry Paleev-Barmansky, Natalia Koretska, Ostap Ripka, Dana Kuz, Oleksa Gorodenko, Nazar Yan Bozhik, Fedor Smirnov and others.
