Mounjaro, which like Ozempic is an injectable originally developed to treat diabetes, has been taken by celebrities ranging from Meghan Trainor to Whoopi Goldberg.
Graziano, the daughter of a former consigliere to the Bonnano mafia family, has become one of the latest famous faces to shed pounds with the help of the drug.
After losing significant weight Graziano in May had been posting up a storm to her Instagram page, proudly displaying her slimmed-down figure in swimwear and fitted clothing.
Graziano in May said she was down 52 pounds as she explained to her followers how she was enjoying keeping them in the loop with her weight loss.
‘I love sharing my weight-loss journey with y’all because truthfully, I’ve been so hard on myself behind the scenes,’ Graziano said.
Baring the emotions behind her weight loss process, Graziano wrote: ‘I’ve battled self-criticism in the past! Ripped myself down to the ground!!
She continued, ‘I truly was so sick and tired of my life and my inability to lose weight so I thought I’d eat until I felt better.’
Graziano added: ‘THAT NEVER HAPPENED, I felt like I was constantly falling short – of how I “should” look, feel, and keep up with what society tells us is acceptable.’
Graziano encouraged fans that they too could change for the better if they set goals and focused on reaching them.
‘That’s why, when I see photos that show the real, visible change,’ Graziano said. ‘My clear eyes and genuine smile I have to share. I want everyone to know if I can do it you can do it! it’s all possible!!’
Graziano dished: ‘Between taking my weekly MOUNJARO shot for the 1st 5 months, the. making sure I took the right supplements (dm me I will share what take) weekly chats with my therapist and doing all the work behind my insecurity, I haven’t felt the need for a plastic surgery short cut’.
She clarified: ‘Although I do believe whatever makes you happy and doesn’t jeopardize your life do it!’ confessing she uses ‘a little Botox’ and a ‘touch of lip filler.’
Graziano, who has been candid about her turbulent struggle with substance abuse and is currently on the wagon, discussed the impact of her physical transformation.
‘The substantial amount of weight that I have lost really has made me feel and look younger than I have in a long time,’ she wrote. ‘My mind is clear and My body has transformed, and more importantly, so has my confidence.’
Graziano told viewers: ‘Whatever goal you’re working toward, know this: you can do it. Be patient. Be kind to yourself. And don’t give up. But always remember if your like me your recovery must come first!!’
Graziano was arrested and charged on suspicion of DUI in January 2022, after she crashed her Nissan Murano into an empty parked car. She later spoke out, insisting ‘no drugs or alcohol were involved’ in the incident, that she ‘never’ appeared before a judge and that her case was ‘thrown out.’
More than a year later, in September 2023, she suffered a near-fatal fentanyl overdose after which she had to learn to walk again.
The life-threatening ordeal prompted her to go to rehab and get sober, and she has since been frank about her previous struggles with substance abuse.
Renee confessed to ‘self-medicating’ with drugs as she coped with various personal crises, including the death of her father Anthony Graziano and the collapse of her marriage to mobster Hector ‘Junior’ Pagan.
Mob Wives was infamously rocked by scandal when Anthony was sentenced to a year and a half of prison after Junior wore a wire to surveil him for the authorities.
Now Renee feels that she was ‘was never addicted to drugs’ but used them as a ‘comfort’ amid the tumult in her life, she told Page Six last year.
‘In some strange way, I think sometimes that self-medicating kept me alive,’ she said. ‘Because I think if I would have really had to live through it without medicating, I might not have made it. That’s the truth, and I don’t even like to talk that way.’
