In another shake-up, which will start in 2026, Lorraine will now host all five of the episodes, whereas before she was replaced each Friday with stars Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh.
In a new interview with The Standard, Lorraine addressed the changes, staying hopeful that it will remain a favourite for daytime viewers.
She said: “My show’s been on at half past eight, quarter to nine, and nine o’clock, 10 past nine… So hopefully the audience will still stay with us, because that’s the most important thing to me, is you know, that the audience are still enjoying what I do, and the fact that people are so kind and they still watch after all these years and when I go out and about, people greet me like their friend, which is really, really lovely, and I don’t think that happens to all that many people.
“You know that you’ve got that connection, primarily because I’ve been doing it for so long, but it’s something that I never, ever take for granted and I never take any, any of this for granted. I really don’t, because it’s an honour.”
Lorraine isn’t the only show affected by the shake-up, with most of the daytime TV schedule changing in length, with the workforce across ITV Studios’ daytime operations being slashed in half.
Good Morning Britain’s broadcast will be extended until 9.30am for its regular daily slot, and 10am when Lorraine is off-air. It will also switch production to a dedicated ITV News at ITN team, bringing in their news teams to help build the show.
While This Morning will not be affected, Loose Women will also now only run for 30 weeks a year – and will remain at its current hour-long slot.
ITV said it was also looking at a proposal that would see Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women produced by one team – sharing resources and operations, in a move that would cut costs.
The announcement was made in May this year, but will only go into effect at the start of 2026.
Stars including GMB’s Dr Hilary have since confirmed that they will be among those not returning in the new year.
Lorraine has been open about her disappointment in her show bearing the brunt of the cost-cutting, telling BBC’s Desert Island Discs in November that the change felt “seismic”.
She said at the time: “I was disappointed, of course I was. This is the world that we live in now.”
But she added: “Things have to change. I mean, I’ve been through so many regime changes in my life. For me, this is just another one but it’s seismic.
“The thing that has upset me the most is the fact that we’ve got this great team and obviously that’s not going to be in place next year because jobs will go.
“Hopefully I’ll be able to hang on to some of these amazing people — that’s my aim. It’s very, very, sad. It really is.”
