Lorraine revealed she was having keyhole surgery over the weekendCredit: InstagramSian Welby was standing in for Lorraine this morning after the Scottish presenter revealed her health battle over the weekend.
Sian, 38, explained that Lorraine is “planning to be back as soon as she can”.
Tyler West, who also opened Monday’s show with Sian, then revealed that Lorraine is “following doctors orders”.
He also said that it’s hard to get Lorraine to follow orders.
Lorraine revealed over the weekend that she was having “a wee procedure”.
Taking to her Instagram page from her hospital bed and while donning a hospital gown, the Scottish star said: “Just wanted to let you know I’m having a wee procedure today.
“I’ve not been feeling all that well for a little while, so I had some scans and tests, and I have to have my ovaries and my tubes taken out.”
Lorraine added some reassuring words, saying: ‘It’s purely preventative.
“It’s going to be with keyhole surgery, which is incredible, I’m being very well looked after.
“And I’ll obviously see you really soon, and I’m gonna be totally fine,” she said in the video.
Fans were quick to comment on Lorraine’s TV absence on Monday.
One viewer brutally penned: “Why can none of the presenters ever work a bank holiday? Are they so important and overpaid that they need a rest to spend all their cash?!”
Someone quickly replied: “For once I think Lorraine is in hospital,” setting the record straight.
Others praised Sian’s hosting skills, with one writing: “Amazing to see @Sianwelby doing @lorraine programme this morning.”
Another then asked if Sian could be on the show “full time”.
When Lorraine posted about her surgery, her colleagues were quick to support her in the comments section.
