She said in a video, ‘Here we are 50 years from 1976, happy anniversary… I say happy anniversary to you [the fans] because without your support all these years we wouldn’t be here, and I am so grateful.’
On the popular show – which aired for three seasons from 1976 until 1978 – she played tennis player Jaime Sommers who is rebuilt using technology after a sky-diving accident then becomes a government special agent.
Her frequent costar was Lee Majors’ Steve Austin from The Six Million Dollar Man.
The 76-year-old actress will the beloved series with Bionic 50, a virtual event offering never-before-released signed photos and signed printed copies of the final episode script, On The Run.
Wagner told People the virtual event is a celebration.
‘[The fans] always want to ask me questions about, “How did you do this [in the show?]” but for me, I like to hear their stories. So I’m offering these video chats to have them call in and also talk to me about what it was like for them watching the show and [asl] “Who did you watch it with and what did you do and what did you think?”‘
Wagner continued: ‘Some of them are funny, some of them are very sweet, some of them are very kind of sad but but feel good in a way — that the show could bring somebody who was growing up in a very difficult family and they could escape into Bionic and think about Jamie and feel like somebody had their back.’
The Bionic Woman series is a spin-off from the 1970s Six Million Dollar Man television science fiction action show.
Though Bionic Woman was on-screen for only three seasons (from 1976 until 1978), it made a big impression on audiences.
This series is based on the adventures of Sommers, who almost dies while sky diving.
She is rebuilt bionically, just like her former fiancé, Steve Austin, who is the Six Million Dollar Man, played by Farrah Fawcett’s ex-husband Lee Majors.
Sommers agrees to use her special skills – like being able to hear from far away and also being capable of running 60mph – to help the US government.

She also co-starred in The Paper Chase the same year.
In 1975, she got a role on Six Million Dollar Man then began the spin-off series, The Bionic Woman, in January 1976.
