Spacey was seen in photos with Libby Alon, chief international news editor for Now14Israel, posted on Monday. Multiple outlets reported he was there to visit a friend’s daughter, who is serving in the Israeli army, and toured communities impacted by Hamas’ Oct. 7 attacks.
The House of Cards actor was joined by pro-Israel British journalist Douglas Murray, who makes regular trips to the country.
The Hollywood Reporter reached out to Spacey’s reps for further comment on the visit.
Spacey has kept a relatively low profile since he was first accused of sexual misconduct and abuse by multiple men in 2017. In June, he told Piers Morgan that the Baltimore house he had been living in was being foreclosed.
“My house has been sold off, so I have to go back to Baltimore and put all my things in storage,” he said admitted, tearing up. “So the answer to the question is, “I’m not quite sure where I’m going to live now.’”
When Morgan asked how much money Spacey has, he told him, “None.”
In the same interview, he said his hopes of a career revival have been dashed by executives getting cold feet about his involvement with projects. Most recently, a U.K. documentary released this summer brought to light more allegations against the actor spanning five decades, which the actor denied.
“I don’t know why Channel 4 has not yet told the British public if they pay these individuals to tell these stories,” Spacey said in rebuttal to the doc. “My brother’s been paid a number of times for telling false and crazy stories. So we know that they approached people and said they would pay them. So, did they pay these individuals for telling these stories?”
Spacey continues to battle multiple allegations of sexual misconduct against him. The actor has always denied all criminal charges. He was found not guilty in sexual assault trials in the U.S. and the U.K. but still faces a new civil trial in Britain, set for next year, brought by a man who claims the actor sexually assaulted him in 2008.
