Jayne Trcka dead at 62: Scary Movie star and bodybuilding legend passes away in San Diego

Jayne Trcka – who was an iconic bodybuilder and had roles including in 2000’s Scary Movie – has died aged 62.

Her death was confirmed by the San Diego medical examiner but the cause of death is still pending.

Trcka passed away weeks ago on December 12 in San Diego, California her son told TMZ on Monday.

He also said that he was not aware of any medical condition or illness that could have caused her death.

Trcka was well-known in the 1980s bodybuilding scene which was considered the heyday of the fitness genre.

In 2000, she landed her first acting role in the aforementioned Scary Movie as Miss Mann.

In her most well-known role she was the girls gym teacher at B. A. Corpse High School and was featured in scenes alongside stars Anna Faris, Regina Hall, and Shannon Elizabeth.

That was her lone appearance in the horror parody film franchise which will release its sixth movie in June of this year. 

Her acting career did not end there as she also starred as herself in Drew Carey comedy shows The Drew Carey Show and Whose Line is it Anyway? in the early 2000s. 

Trcka also appeared in Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! and The New Big Ball with Neil Hamburger both on television in 2010.

The star starred on the big screen a few more times including 2002’s The Black Magic, 2002’s Nudity Required, 2003’s The Interplanetary Surplus Male And Amazon Women of Outer Space, and 2006’s Cattle Call.

In 2009, she was one of the officers who walked Lady Gaga into prison in the iconic music video for Telephone which was a collaboration with Beyonce.

Trcka was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota in February 1963.

She went on to study gymnastics in addition to other sports in school before beginning weight training after moving to Southern California in 1986.

In 2000, she landed her first acting role in the aforementioned Scary Movie as Miss Mann as she is seen alongside star Anna Faris

Just two years later she was already competing in bodybuilding shows in 1988.

Then a decade later she quit her job at the postal service to focus solely on her fitness career and became a certified personal trainer in 1998.

Trcka even won first place at the 1997 California State Championships at age 34.

Then she also took home first prize at the 1998 Junior Nationals and the 2004 Los Angeles.

Her impressive bodybuilding career also included top ten finishes in more than twenty other competitions.

She also appeared on numerous fitness and bodybuilding magazines including: including Flex, MuscleMag International, Women’s Physique World, Iron Man, and Fighting Females.

She continued her bodybuilding career even after her acing career took off.

In more recent years, she reportedly worked as a realtor for Realty Source California.
