“I still need to watch the Japanese anime and read Shonen Jump,” says Noritaka Kavagucha.

On Machi Asobi’s recent Ivant, the founder of the Comixwave Films studio, known for Makoto Sinkai’s films, Noryaka Kavaguchi confessed that he is already choking in content: “Too much. I still need to watch Japanese anime and read shonn. [найпопулярніший в Японії журнал з мангою – прим. УНІАН]”.
But the true annoyance was voiced by his colleague, the head of the international direction of Mii oni. According to her, in Hollywood anime is increasingly perceived as art, but as a budget alternative:
“I actually break me when people in Hollywood ask: ‘And you can do it in the form of anime?’ This is always the idea: ‘Anime is cheap’.
She even gave a typical example of a dialogue with Hollywood producer: “The shooting of the movie takes 20 billion yon lives. And you can’t do it as anime?”
The nights emphasizes that anime is not a genre, but an animation method, and you do not need to push it everywhere where you want.
This reaction is the response to the wave of animifications of Western franchises. There were already Star Wars: Visions, the “Rhirrims War” behind the “winner of the rings”. The same fate was initially befell Japanese franchises, which were largely focused on the West, such as Devil May Cry from Netflix.
Earlier, we said that Hideo Codzima stated that anime is in production for Death Stranding. The series will not translate the game.
