The 10th Spanish Cinema Festival will open the best movie of the Year in Spain.

From October 13 to October 16, the event will also be held at the Lviv Cinema Cinema at the Forum Lviv Shopping Center.
As reported in the press service of the Arthouse Traffic Film Company, the movie-opening of this year’s event will be the melodrama “Deaf” (SORDA)which became the triumph of the National Film Festival in Malase.
In particular, the festival was given six awards: a prize for the best film of the festival, the best Spanish movie, the best debut, the best actor, the best actress and the prize of viewers’ sympathies.
In addition, the tape received a number of awards and nominations at festivals in Berlin, Seattle, Brussels and Guadalahalari. The sensitive picture of motherhood also included in the top 50 movies of 2025 according to users of Letterboxd.
The main character of the movie directed by Eva Libertad is a deaf woman for whom the appearance of a long -awaited child creates unforeseen challenges. When a woman begins to doubt her ability to be a good mother, she has to look for her own path to her daughter, convincing herself and the world that maternal love does not need hearing.
In general, the selection of this year’s Festival “Spanish Cinema” presents the genre variety of modern Spanish cinema: In addition to the melodras, the audience will be shown a comedy for adult
- Scientific and fantastic comedy “Time’s Jump” (¡Salta!) Olga Ozorio, which was recognized as the best international film by the Schlingel (Germany) viewers. She talks about the adventures of two brothers, one of whom became a scientist, and the other lost in time portals and remained a 10-year-old boy.
- based on real events criminal thriller “Undercover” (La infiltrada) directors of Aranshi Echevarry. This picture is the best movie of the year according to the Goya Prize – the main film award of Spain. The tape tells the story of a police officer who has received an impossible task – to get into a terrorist organization. Having broken family connections and changed her name, she became the only woman in the ranks of militants, and spent eight years with them – until she received the most dangerous mission of her life.
- bold comedy “Neighbors from above” (Sentimental) Director Seska Gaya with the participation of the star of the Bellen Kustus Paper House, which received a nomination of the European Film Academy in the Best European Comedy. At the center of the plot is a couple who, in 15 years of marriage, turned into almost alien people, while the passionate moans of new neighbors remind them of how boring their personal life has become boring. But one called dinner brings the inhabitants of two apartments together, and this meeting brings a bit special into the relationship of both couples.
- Adventure historical drama “Captive” (el cautivo) Director Alejandro Amenabar, whose movie “Sea inside” received the Oscar Award. The author’s new tape is about the wounded Spanish sailor Migel de Cervantes, who is captured by the Ottoman Corsairs. In a dungeon, he opens the art of the story, which is fascinated by even Beya Algeria Hassan. The secret connection between them ignites suspicions and tension in the city. And Cervantes, meanwhile, thinks of a desperate plan for escape.
The Spanish Cinema Festival has been held in Ukraine since 2004 and, after a break related to the Covid-19 and the Russian war, was restored in 2023. This year he will take place in his tenth edition.
We will remind that annually in Ukraine there are several festivals of national cinema of European countries. In particular, in addition to Spanish, cinema and Switzerland were already held in 2025. The German and French cinema festivals should also be held by the end of the year.
