The artillery installation itself did not change / screenshotA new version of the Ukrainian 155-mm/52 Self-propelled howitzer 2s22 “Bogdan” appeared in service with the 44th Separate Artillery Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces. The BMPD’s military-technical blog drew attention to this.
The new version is conditionally referred to as “5.0”. Self-propelled artillery installation in this modification has a new broncabin from the company “Ukrainian armored vehicles” and uses the wheel chassis Tatra T815-7 (8×8).
It should be thought that the artillery installation itself has not changed, although the Ukrainian military has long been talking about one important drawback, namely, a highly lifted gun breech, which is difficult to charge weapons.
As it was reported, despite the established semi -automatic reference, the Ukrainian military is not used because of technical features. They point out that the design does not involve simultaneous charging and gun.
Bogdan’s SAU – UNIAN Help The 155-mm self-propelled artillery installation “Bogdan” became the first Ukrainian SAU, which was developed under the standard NATO countries of 155 mm. According to open sources, howitzer received a baptism in 2022, and in 2023 the SAU was officially adopted by the Armed Forces.
We will remind, in April UNIAN reported that our country increased the production of the Bogdan 2C22 SAU from six units in 2023 to 36. Increased figures by supporting the European partners who invested funds in the Ukrainian defense.
Even earlier, a towed version of the artistem, called “Bogdan-B” was presented.
The reason for its appearance was explained by the fact that Ukraine is able to produce more artillery units for “Bogdana” than the Czech company Tatra can make a chassis for this artillery installation.
