Since the presentation of the original concept at LE Bourgea Air Force, in June 2023, the company has made numerous improvements to accelerate the aircraft certification and commercialization. Beyond Aero is currently hoping to put the first certified business jet by 2030.

It is known that the aircraft will receive two electric motors in the tail part and will use a system of hydrogen fuel elements with a capacity of 2.4 MW. BYA-1 contains six passengers, develops a cruising speed of 310 knots (about 575 km/h) and has a range of 800 nautical miles (almost 1500 km).

It is estimated by Beyond Aero, Bya-1 will make flights much more economical. It is assumed that the cost of maintenance of the aircraft will be approximately 50% lower than that of “ordinary” winged machines.

It is expected that in the future, hydrogen fuel will be very cheap and it will be a significant competitive advantage by Bya-1.

The main purpose of engineers was to prove that hydrogen could be used safely and effectively for civilian aircraft.

Later, in 2024, the authors of Interesting Engineering stated that “against the background of an increase in the desire to move from fossil fuel to sustainable energy, hydrogen energy becomes the leader of the future.” According to experts, the defense agencies of some countries are already seeking to transfer their equipment to hydrogen engines.
