The theater, at the famed intersection of Hollywood & Vine in Hollywood and owned and operated by The Nederlander Organization, is giving the funds to the Los Angeles Firefighters Foundation, Los Angeles Police Foundation, Entertainment Community Fund (formerly known as The Actors Fund), Project Angel Food and Broadway Cares / Equity Fights Aids.
“Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the devastating fires impacting Los Angeles and our surrounding communities. We are deeply grateful for the heroic efforts of our firefighters, first responders, and the countless neighbors who have stepped up to lend a helping hand during this difficult time. Your courage, resilience and compassion inspire us all,” Hollywood Pantages Theatre president Jeff Loeb said in a statement on Tuesday.
The Pantages Theatre is near to the Hollywood Hills, where the Sunset Fire first broke out in Runyon Canyon. The spreading fire was close to Hollywood Boulevard and the Hollywood Walk of Fame, near to iconic Los Angeles locations and tourist destinations.
Besides the foundations supporting L.A. firefighters and police personnel, the Entertainment Community Fund offers emergency financial assistance to people in the entertainment industry facing unexpected hardship.
Project Angel Food delivers meals to individuals with life-threatening illnesses during emergencies, and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids helps those needing lifesaving medications, health care, nutritious meals, counseling and emergency financial assistance.
On its website, the Hollywood Pantages Theatre also added links to the five organizations for those wanting to make additional donations.
