Ognevich denies the similarity.
Ognevich spoke about the comparison with Lorak / Collage UNIAN / photo instagram/anilorak, zlata.ognevichUkrainian singer, blogger and main character of the reality show “Bachelorette” Zlata Ognevich reacted to the comparison of her voice with the voice of Ani Lorak, who chose the side of the Russian Federation in this war.
The presenter of the “Star Tour” project asked Ognevich why she decided to give her song “Passion” a new lease of life. The artist replied that in the past there were no professional sites for downloading songs, so now she is solving the issue of publishing her old tracks. Ognevich admitted that she loves this song very much and is even thinking about returning it to her concert program.
At the same time, in the comments to the release there were people who said that the performance of the song reminded them of Ani Lorak. The host asked if Zlata was annoyed by such a comparison. The singer answered as follows:
“Lovers, have God in your heart! Well, what kind of Lorak is it? These are people who don’t have ears, for sure. We are completely different, completely: timbral, performing, technically, vocally. And I know why there was such a constant association among people. Because when there was an advertisement for chocolate, and before that, Ani Lorak advertised it with songs, with her voice. When I started singing “Passion”, it was actually also an advertisement for chocolate, so there was not such a big promotional campaign.”
We will remind you that Ani Lorak was one of the most popular pop stars in Ukraine for a long time. She represented the country at Eurovision, actively toured, received national awards and regularly appeared on Ukrainian TV channels.
Since the beginning of the 2010s, the singer increasingly focused her career in Russia, where she built her show business activities. After the beginning of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, her position caused sharp criticism in Ukrainian society: Lorak did not condemn the war, continued to work in the Russian Federation and actually distanced herself from the Ukrainian cultural space.
