Darra believes that one of the key problems is the obsession of Great Publishers by the successes of games: “Companies like Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft or Sony would be happy if each had five successful service games that bring everything.”
But, in his opinion, the players themselves do not want the industry to turn into several monopolies like Fortnite. “It seems that the audience has already begun to signal a wallet that such a scenario does not suit her.”
As an example, he cite the recent success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The French Jrpg from SandFall Interactive was relatively cheap, did not chase after photorealism, but at the same time dispersed excellent editions. For Darry, the players are still a request for more chamber but high quality projects.
In doing so, he acknowledges that the near future depends largely on GTA 6. If the new part repeats or exceed the record sales GTA 5, this can consolidate the current market model. If the result is weaker, the rethinking of priorities may begin:

Darra also noted that many studies founded by former employees of large companies received solid investments, but had lost funding by the end of last year.
He suggests that the industry is waiting for a long recovery period, during which the indie teams will grow to the AA-level and, perhaps, they will become the foundation for the next generation of AAA projects.
Earlier, Mark Darra said that EA did not allow Biowere to make the Dragon Age Remake: Origins. Biowere also considered the opportunity to hire a foreign company to create a reissue.
