The Cultural Forces platform presented a new episode of the military musical project “Front Studio”, in which military units open their doors to musicians so that battle songs of the brigades are born in synergy.
In this episode, the famous folklorist and performer Yulia Yurina came to visit the 28th separate mechanized brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign. This is one of the oldest units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which inherited the tenacity of the Ukrainian army: the brigade’s chevron depicts the Iron Cross of the Ukrainian People’s Republic “For the Winter Campaign and Battles”, and their slogan is “With Will and Iron”.
The Brigade of Knights of the Winter Campaign was created in 2001. During the anti-terrorist operation/anti-terrorist operation, the brigade held the border near Izvaryn, defended the Donetsk airport, Maryinka and Krasnohorivka. In 2022, it destroyed the enemy landing force near Koblev, defended Mykolaiv Oblast and liberated the right bank of Kherson Oblast.
In order to immerse herself in the atmosphere of the unit, Yulia took part in training together with recruits during “zero day”, when the stressful circumstances of a real battle are simulated for the soldiers. The singer visited tankers and infantry instructors, tried her hand at shooting from a machine gun and an RPG, and also recorded an interview with soldiers:
“This trip completely changed my perception of war. I talked with the commanders of various units, military personnel of various specialties, and was inspired by the slogans and ideas carried by these soldiers. This will be a song about not stepping on Ukrainian soil, and about the fact that our fighters will overcome the invaders, because they are the gods of war.”
The singer was most impressed by the motivation of those who had just joined the Defense Forces. Yulia tried to become a bridge between the civilian world and the military, communicating with recruits who only yesterday changed their suits to pixel. Among them are former journalists, car mechanics, sailors. Some of them worked abroad at the time of the Great War, but decided to return.
“Why did you decide to return from abroad and join the army?” – the singer asks one of the recruits. “I watched a lot of videos and realized: this is my dream, I can’t stay far away, I want to come back and make my dream come true,” answers the young infantryman with the call sign “Test”.
“I asked simple, sometimes banal questions. To explain to people what war really is, so that they understand. Perhaps this will remove certain fears and inspire a decision to defend the country,” Yulia concludes.

Within the framework of the new season of “Front Studio”, five episodes have already been released:

- Pavlo Gots with the song “Never Back” for the 93rd Brigade “Kholodny Yar”.
- Misha Pravily with the track “92nd Life” for the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after of the basket chieftain Ivan Sirk.
- Cossack Syromakh and Jan Shipula with the war song “Edelweiss” for the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade “Edelweiss”.
- Sasha Buhl with the song “King’s Infantry” for the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo.
“Front Studio” is a musical military project of the Cultural Forces platform. 17 famous artists took part in it. Perhaps the Cultural Forces were the first to gather such a large number of artists of various genres within the framework of one musical-military project. Among them are Sasha Chemerov, MONATIK, Pavlo Gots (NAZVA), NORD DIVISION, Kozak Siromaha, Yulia Yurina, Misha Privily, Lely45, PROBASS ∆ HARDI, DK Energetik and others. In total, 16 episodes of the show, 16 song releases and 16 music videos will be released within the project.
