During molting, wolves may have a rather unattractive appearance.

However, in the summer, predators get access to more nutrition, which includes even fruits and vegetables. This was reported on the Facebook page of the Chornobyl radiation-ecological biosphere.

“Not all of the Siromans look fat and strong. In the summer, during molting, wolves often have a rather unattractive appearance, especially if the hunt was unsuccessful,” the researchers state.

At the same time, it is the warm season that opens a variety of menus for predators. In addition to the usual prey – ungulates, rabbits or murine rodents, wolves eat eggs and chicks of land.

More, sometimes the diet of wolves is complemented by even plant foods: from fruits and vegetables to cereals.

According to experts, after the outbreak of African swine fever in 2014-2015, the number of wild boar in the specified reserve has fallen sharply, and now remains critically low. However, there are some hopes – observations have shown the satisfactory condition of individual animals and the appearance of young animals.

We also wrote that in the Chernobyl area we noticed a rare bird – a snake. Such predators actively hunt and move in their hunting territories, and periodically rest on power lines, which at the same time serve them with convenient viewing points. One of these beauties was noticed near the village of Dibrova.
