“ENZO Maresca singled out Tosin Adarabioyo in his pre-Bournemouth press conference after his horror show performance against Leeds. Tosin was at fault for Leeds’ third goalCredit: Getty Tosin, 28, caught more heat than any other player from his boss for his mistake that led to Leeds’ third goal.
Looking for a way back into the game at 2-1 down, Tosin took far too long on the ball and was dispossessed with ease before Leeds’ third, leaving Robert Sanchez and the Chelsea fans furious.
Maresca, in charge of the youngest team in the Premier League, was questioned over whether it was experience that lost his side the game in West Yorkshire.
He responded: “We always talk about experience when we drop points.
“When we beat Barcelona, when we drew against Arsenal, no one was mentioning experienced players.
“So, again, I understand that when we don’t win, we are always looking for the reason why, but I think the reason why we didn’t win against Leeds is not because of the experience, it’s because we were not good enough.
“We have experienced players. Unfortunately, they were not on the pitch. One, because he was suspended, the other one because of an injury.
“Against Leeds, the ones that have more experience were out.

“Who is the oldest one for us in the pitch? Who was? Tosin. Did he play good?”
The silence in the press room was ominous, and the answer obvious.
Maresca continued: “So, it’s not about experience. It’s about those 11 players who were not good enough.
“I know that we are always looking for experience, but it was a bad game for all of us.”
To add to that frustration, Maresca took accountability for the fact that he made a mistake in not playing 19-year-old Josh Acheampong.
Acheampong looked to be building up steam in a goalscoring performance against Nottingham Forest, his goal condemning Ange Postecoglou to the sack that day.
A true Christmas miracle!
But since then, a substitute appearance against Barcelona has seen the young defender play just eight minutes, aside from the 76 minutes he played against Sunderland the following week.
Maresca added, “One of the regrets I have after the game is I didn’t play with Josh.
“So the reason why we played with Trev [Chalobah], Tosin and Benoit [Badiashile] is because analysing Leeds, we saw that most of the time they were playing long ball for Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha.
“We preferred physicality to win aerial duels. But even with that, we lost most of them.”
