The video was shot during a blackout.
Military rapper Jan Shipula presents a new work “Sche longo” – a sharp geopolitical and satirical rap, which without filters reflects on the military reality, international politics and life in the conditions of energy deficit caused by barbaric Russian shelling of our energy sector, the Cultural Forces reported.
Together with the track “Sche longo” a video is released, shot in a context recognizable to many Ukrainians – during a blackout. The video serves as an ironic survival guide during forced blackouts.
“A long time” is a slice of the modern context, in which even the usual news sounds like a surreal song. In the text of the track, the themes of war, oil games, “Asians under contract” and “tough geopolitics” are interwoven. Ian does not avoid sharp images and direct wording, creating a dynamic picture in which events change faster than we have time to comprehend them,” the message reads.
As noted, if the track itself raises global issues, the clip focuses on the level of everyday experience. The video work was created in the format of a satirical video instruction on survival. The artist vividly demonstrates: in order to survive during blackouts of light and heat due to barbaric Russian attacks on our energy, superhuman efforts are not needed – simple things, internal stability and optimism are enough.
“For a long time” is about our immunity to absurdity and crisis situations. This track and clip remind us: even when it’s dark and cold around, the most important resource is the ability not to grieve, but to laugh – both at the enemy and at yourself,” comments Jan Shipula.
