To slow it down a bit, creative director Stuart Vevers had the honor of welcoming a crowd of actors, influencers, fashionistas, press and Coach insiders for what turned out to be an intimate and stylish affair in honor of Elle’s work in the critically acclaimed new film from Joachim Trier. The dinner came hot on the heels of Elle receiving a Golden Globe nomination for her work in the film, which received a total of eight nominations. She also received a best supporting actress nomination from the Critics Choice Association.
Sentimental Value centers on another pair of sisters, Nora and Agnes, played by Renate Reinsve and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, who reunite with their estranged father, a once renowned director named Gustav, played by Stellan Skarsgard. He offers Nora a role in what he hopes will be a comeback film only to see her turn it down. Nora soon discovers that Gustav offered the part to an eager young Hollywood star, played by Elle. The siblings are forced to navigate a complex relationship with Gustav while dealing with an American actress who is now unwittingly dropped into the middle of their family dynamics.
“Elle brings such warmth, depth, and spirit to everything she does, and she’s a treasured part of our Coach family,” Vevers said. “Celebrating this milestone with her was an honor. Seeing her artistry on screen is a joy, and I’m excited for all that’s ahead.”
For the occasion, Elle stepped out in a custom look by Coach that could be considered method dressing: She wore a pale pink, hand screen-printed dress highlighting the skyline of Oslo, a nod to the film’s location. Also in attendance: Storm Reid, Iris Apatow, Maddie Ziegler, Natalia Bryant, Charlotte D’Alessio, Shira Haas, Blakely Thornton, Cazzie David, Thomas Kikis, Jake Shane, Sonia Mena, Supriya Ganesh and Alessandra Codinha, all of whom wore Coach. DJ Bianca Lexis handled the ones and twos. See more views from inside the event below.
