Brooke Warne certainly turned her fair share of heads when she stepped out for the Melbourne Cup at Flemington Racecourse on Tuesday.

Speaking to Daily Mail, Brooke revealed a very thrifty fashion tip that certainly stood her in good stead for this year’s races.

She admitted that, while other fashionistas work with stylists for weeks on end to achieve that perfect Birdcage look, Brooke took a more DIY approach.

‘I styled myself because I’m a control freak, which is great,’ she said.

When asked if there were any celebrities who caught her eye with their sartorial style, Brooke remained diplomatic.

‘Everyone looks really classy, which I love,’ she said. ‘There’s nothing too crazy that I’ve seen yet.’

‘I’m quite simple with what I wear, but I just love all the looks – everyone pulls it off so fantastically.’

Despite working with Ronald McDonald House on the day, Brooke insisted that her chosen colours were not influenced by the iconic burger chain.

‘I actually didn’t do it on purpose but funnily enough this morning when I took my pictures and uploaded them to Instagram I was like, ‘It’s kind of giving the Golden Arches, in the best way”.

‘Maccas is the best and the Ronald McDonald House is such a good cause so I was happy to help out today.’

The blonde daughter of the late cricket legend Shane Warne radiated summer vibes in her ensemble for the iconic race day.

Attending alongside brother Jackson, Brooke wore a bright yellow dress with a halter neckline.

The dress, from Forever New, cinched at the waist and also featured a pleated skirt that finished just above Brooke’s ankles.

Brooke also wore a pair of ruby red Dolce Firme heels and, keeping the colourful theme going, finished her ensemble with a custom red fascinator by Melbourne-based milliner Jill Humphries.

She enhanced her look with a deep red shade on her lip, a manicured brow and a subtle application of blush to accentuate her cheekbones.

Brooke accessorised with a red quilted Dolce Firme handbag as well as some gold bling in her ears.

She also wore a small silver horseshoe pin on her chest – a fundraising initiative for Ronald McDonald House.

Brooke’s sunny appearance put her close to the front of the pack when it came to the best dressed stakes at Flemington.

In March, Brooke shared an emotional tribute to her late cricket legend father on the third anniversary of his shock death.

Brooke shared a gallery of heartfelt photos to social media which captured some of the precious moments she shared with her sporting legend father.

One never-before-seen photo captured a happy Shane tenderly cradling a newborn Brooke, while another image saw them posing in front of a seaside setting.

Brooke captioned the gallery with some emotional words.

‘Three years without you Dad. I miss laughing with you about the little things, there is so much I want to show you,’ she began.

‘I know you’re always with us, I love you. I miss you every day.’

The king of spin tragically died of a heart attack at the age of 52 on March 4, 2022, while staying at a luxury villa on the Thailand holiday island of Koh Samui.
