Benidorm cast reunite for rare photo seven years after show was axed – and rumours show is set to return

SOME of Benidorm’s biggest names got together as rumors swirled about the comedy’s return.

ITV’s hit show hilariously followed a group of Brits abroad but came to an end in 2018, however, some of the stars decided to form their own reunion.

Tony shared a photo of them 15 years ago and more recentlyCredit: InstagramSiobhan Finneran who played Janice, Kenneth actor Tony Maudsley, and Adam Gillen who starred as Liam posed together for a happy snap which was shared to Instagram.

“The sun always shines when the Benidorm gang get together!! ALWAYS a pleasure,” wrote Tony, who posted it to Instagram.

Tony also used the photo to do a side-by-side comparison of the trio in the early days of filming Benidorm.

“We haven’t budged for 15 years!!” he joked in the caption.

Fans of the comedy series loved seeing the three actors backed together and wondered if that meant they expect to see a reboot of Benidorm on their TV screens.

“Please tell me this means a new series,” asked one fan in the comments.

Another added: “I love Benidorm. I serial watched it when I was pregnant and sick with my son. It’s a classic. Would love it if there was a new series coming out!”

And a third wrote: “Hello darlings we need you all back on our tele box’s especially the best double act Kenneth and Liam, and the best loved family the Garveys… Come on Darren make it happen, you know you want this, you know you can persuade them the TV companies that is..”

In July, a Benidorm fan favourite revealed fresh hope for a long-awaited reboot.

Benidorm fans were hoping for a reunion when rumours started flying back in April, then show legend Sherrie Hewson spilled some juicy details.

The actress, who played no-nonsense hotel boss Joyce Temple-Savage, revealed that fresh scripts for a brand-new season had already been written and handed to ITV bigwigs – and she reckoned they “think they are wonderful”.

During an appearance at An Evening with Sherrie Hewson, she said: “I do know ITV have got new scripts and they love them and think they are wonderful.

“The problem with Benidorm is that it’s probably one of the most expensive shows ever because it’s in Spain, we have a Spanish crew, we have a British crew, so it costs a fortune to make.

“But it’s on twice a day every day and those ratings are still as high as they ever were, so I think it will [return].”

Sherrie went on to claim that ITV bosses “love the scripts” and revealed show creator Derren Litten “laughed out loud when he wrote them”.

“So I don’t think there’s any question,” she teased. “It’s just when.”

The Sun exclusively revealed talks have begun about bringing the iconic sitcom back.

But the return of the ITV comedy hit the rocks following a huge falling out between creator Derren Litten and the show’s biggest star Jake Canuso who plays randy barman Matteo.
