The BBC are reportedly fast-tracking Claudia Winkleman’s new chat show to start following her final Strictly Come Dancing show and before the next series of The Traitors starts.

The presenter, 53, has impressed BBC bosses following having huge success hosting The Celebrity Traitors and has cleared her diary by not returning to host Channel 4’s quiz One Question.

The new show will see Claudia interview a number of A-list stars and will air on Friday nights starting as early as March next year.

The BBC have yet to decide on a working title but are hoping the talk show will air for at least two months.

A TV insider told The Sun: ‘If ever proof were needed that Claudia is now very much the BBC’s golden girl following the huge success of The Celebrity Traitors, then this is it.

‘Given that Strictly started in September, it means that by the time her new chat show concludes she will have been on our screens almost constantly for eight months.

‘And they’re some of the biggest TV successes the BBC has ever seen — with the chat show expected to enjoy equally huge ratings when it debuts.

‘Work is hugely picking up pace, although the Beeb have yet to fully form the plan and announce it, though they’re expected to reveal more details next month.’

The source added: ‘When word of her chat show first came out, most people thought it would be months, perhaps a year at least, before it got off the ground.

‘Nobody expected it to be on our screens in a time frame measured in weeks. But execs want to ride the wave of her popularity and secure the next chapter of her career on the BBC.’

Claudia will host the Celebrity Traitors final on Thursday before concluding her final Strictly Come Dancing in December after hosting the show with Tess Daly for 11 years.

Despite not returning to host One Question, which has run for two series on Channel 4, she is set to return to host a fourth season of Channel 4 show, The Piano.

Claudia already has a busy year ahead as she will then go straight on to filming the fifth series of The Traitors at Ardross Castle around May.

If the BBC commission a second series of The Celebrity Traitors they are likely to film it in the spring — directly after the non-celebrity version.

It comes as the Celebrity Traitors series was revealed to being watched by a whopping one in four adults as incredible viewing figures for the BBC series have been revealed.

The show has well and truly captured the attention of a streaming obsessed population with it’s starry version of the tried and tested formula.

It has been revealed that 14million of the 55million over-18s in the UK have tuned in to each episode since the series started in early October.

Meanwhile 6.5million watched the live launch show and once catch-up numbers were added it reached 14.3million viewers.
