After winning the Grammy for best música urbana album for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToSBad Bunny gave a passionate speech amid the Trump administration’s targeting of immigrants in the United States.

Karol G and Marcello Hernández presented the Puerto Rican rapper-singer with the trophy, who began his acceptance speech saying, “Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say ICE out.”

“We’re not savages, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens, we are humans and we are Americans,” he continued as the crowd cheered. “The hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love. So we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love. We don’t hate them. We love our people. We love our family, and that’s the way to do it with love. Don’t forget that, please. Thank you.”

Bad Bunny, who is set to headline the 2026 Super Bowl next weekend, has been very vocal against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), even deciding to opt out of holding tour dates in the US over fear of ICE raids on his fans.

In June last year, as President Donald Trump began cracking down on alleged immigration violations, the rapper slammed ICE officers for making arrests in Puerto Rico. “Those motherfuckers are in these cars, RAV-4s,” Bad Bunny can be heard saying in Spanish at the time. “They’re here in Pontezuela. Sons of bitches, instead of letting the people alone and working.”

Bad Bunny wasn’t the only artist on Sunday night standing against ICE. Several other notable stars, including Billie Eilish, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Finneas and Kehlani, wore black-and-white pins with the words “ICE OUT” displayed on them.

Bad Bunny is also nominated for album of the year and song of the year and record of the year for “DtMF,” among other nods at this year’s Grammys.

The 2026 Grammy Awards, hosted by Trevor Noah, were held live Sunday evening from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Find the full winners list here, and check out the red carpet arrivals.
