Developers showed the drone Fury / ScreenhotAnduril, founded by entrepreneur Palmer Laki, presented a new Fury’s battle-off, designed for the US Air Force. The drone is designed to participate in the Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA), which involves the interaction of drones with pilot fighters, writes Business Insider.
The drone was presented in detail in 60 minutes on the CBS channel. The plot showed how Fury was collected in the hangar, and also revealed a number of new technical details. In particular, the drone has a modular structure – its elements are easy to replace or repair, which allows you to establish mass production at various enterprises throughout the USA.
Frames demonstrate engineers who manually attach the wing to the drone body. The company states that this simplifies service and cheaper production.
A conceptual video was also published, in which three Fury drones fly in front of a manned fighter and enter a hostile plane. According to Anduril CEO, Brajan Shympf, drones will be the first to find goals and fight before the manned aircraft gets into the enemy area.
Fury is expected to become part of the new US Air Force concept, which involves the use of drones as autonomous combat partners. Drones are planned to integrate with the existing F-35 Lightning II, F-22 Raptor, as well as with a promising sixth generation fighter F-47, which is developed by Boeing.
Fury has no official contract, but Anduril has already been selected to participate in the program. The drone competes with the similar development of General Atomics. Pentagon is expected to make the first decisions on the project in the 2026 financial year, which will begin in October 2025.
