They were once regarded as two of the ‘nicest’ Aussie guys in showbusiness.

Keith Urban, 57, and Hugh Jackman, 56, have always been praised for their innate talent and seemingly unwavering commitment to their spouses.

Keith was married to Nicole Kidman, 58, for 19 years, while Hugh and ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness, 69, were together for a remarkable 27 years – a true rarity in Hollywood.

That has all since changed, with both couples shocking fans by filing for divorce this year.

Nicole filed to end her 19-year union with Keith on Tuesday – citing irreconcilable differences – as a source claimed to the Daily Mail that Keith had already moved on with a younger woman in the music industry.

‘The rumour is that he’s with a younger woman in the business. It’s all everyone is talking about,’ they said.

Meanwhile, Keith shocked fans by changing the lyrics of his song about Nicole to include the name of his female guitarist.

A clip of Keith performing The Fighter at a recent show came to light with fans noticing one major difference in the lyrics.

The footage was shared by his guitarist Maggie Baugh, 25, on Instagram on Saturday, and shows Keith singing: ‘When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie I’ll be your guitar player.’

The original lyric goes: ‘When they’re tryna get to you, baby I’ll be the fighter’.

The 2016 song, which originally featured Carrie Underwood, is about the early stages of a relationship when things could go either way.

It is not known how Maggie originally captioned the clip, yet after Keith’s split from Nicole was made public she edited the wording.

The new caption, uploaded on Wednesday, read: ‘Did he just say that,’ alongside mind-blown emojis.

Both the clip and his sudden split from Nicole have somewhat tarnished Keith’s reputation among fans.

Angry fans took to the comment section of the post to slam the move.

‘Wow, that song was made for Nicole. For him to do that tells us what he’s really all about,’ one wrote.

Another added: ‘OK, dumping Nicole is looking more suspect,’ while a third added that the clip gave them the ‘ick’.

‘It is so trashy to do this to a song inspired by his wife. It’s the ultimate ick,’ they wrote.

Even before the clip surfaced, fans were already slamming the country star, with his Instagram inundated with fans begging him to return to his A-lister ex.

‘Are you crazy? Nicole is a total babe. You should be so lucky to have a gorgeous legend A-lister,’ wrote one person.

‘I’m sorry, but Keith was never the perfect husband for me. Nicole cried over him more than once. And confusing her films with their lives is simply absurd. Nicole, I’m rooting for you,’ said another.

Someone else chimed in: ‘Try and work it out. The grass is not greener on the other side. Your kids will be badly affected by it.’

It was a similar story for Hugh, after it was revealed that he had split with wife Deborah-Lee Furness (pictured) before sparking a romance with his much younger co-star Sutton Foster.

Amid the divorce drama, romance blossomed between Hugh and Sutton, with the Wolverine star spotted in the audience to watch Sutton in Once Upon A Mattress at the Ahmanson Theatre in California back in January

While there was never any suggestion that the romance bloomed while Hugh and Deborra-Lee were still together, fans wasted no time in slamming The Greatest Showman

While there has been no official reason given for the split, Nicole is said to have felt ‘betrayed’ over Keith’s decision to leave her and their children Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

‘Nicole’s hurt and feels betrayed. It’s devastating to her. She’s shocked,’ an unnamed source told People on Tuesday.

The insider also claimed that Nicole ‘didn’t want this and has been fighting to save the marriage.’

Hugh and Deborra-Lee announced their split via a joint statement in September 2023, with the actress officially filing for divorce in May 2025.

Just days later the couple were spotted passionately kissing in a car at a San Fernando In-N-Out restaurant.

Though there was no indication that the romance began before Hugh and Deborra-Lee separated, save for a busy rumour mill, fans were quick to criticise The Greatest Showman star.

Following her decision to file for divorce in May, Deborra-Lee threw some not-so-subtle shade on her ex husband. Addressing the split in a statement to Daily Mail, Deborra-Lee referred to the shock uncoupling as a ‘journey of betrayal’

‘I respect Hugh’s work, but I no longer respect him,’ one crestfallen fan said.

Another replied with a long-winded post explaining why they thought Hugh’s new relationship was so triggering for fans.

‘What people aren’t getting/understanding is WHY his fans are upset at him. Hugh literally built his brand/image being the respectful, supportive husband/family man,’ they began.

‘People believed he was real and separated him from the normal Hollywood BS behaviour. He showed ppl that he was DIFFERENT.’

Another chided: ‘Bro…you look pathetic. 56 years old and doing this nonsense.’

‘It’s a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us.’

She continued, ‘This belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage.

‘I have gained much knowledge and wisdom through this experience. Even when we are presented with apparent adversity, it is leading us to our greatest good, our true purpose.

‘It can hurt, but in the long run, returning to yourself and living within your own integrity, values, and boundaries is liberation and freedom.’
