A famous Ukrainian singer can perform at Eurovision after refusing to participate in the National Selection

As the Telegram channel “Eurovision House” reports, the artist, after terminating the contract with the organizing committee of the National Selection, submitted an application for the national competition in San Marino. Candidates for the country’s representative on the international arena will be auditioned on January 11. After that, it will be known whether the Ukrainian will get a chance to perform at Eurovision.

In his Instagram, he hinted that he got into the longlist of the national competition in San Marino with the same song that he tried his hand at in Ukraine. They say it is filled with Ukrainian motifs and the spirit of Ukraine. According to him, he always dreamed of appearing at a competition of this level, that’s why he decided to compete for this honor outside of Ukraine.

“Friends, we wanted to keep it a secret, but you already know, our application made it to the longlist of the National Selection in San Marino. Our track is filled with Ukrainian motifs and the spirit of the country, and we want to strengthen the presence of Ukrainians at Eurovision. For me, Eurovision has always been a dream since childhood. Yes, I dreamed of representing Ukraine, but considering the circumstances, I will try to do it from another country, but with the preservation of our soul it’s not easy, but I believe that dreams should come true,” TESLENKO wrote.

Instagram screenshotBy the way, Teslenka’s decision to withdraw his candidacy from the Ukrainian National Selection was preceded by a scandal with another member of the ENLEO longlist. The performer was criticized for a video on TikTok where he admitted that he listens to Russian music. Oleksandr stated that he would withdraw from the National Selection if ENLEO made it to the shortlist. However, he refused to participate in the competition even before the announcement of the finalists.

As you know, the final of the National Selection will take place on February 8, and the Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled for May 2025 in Basel, Switzerland.
