In an interview for Popcast, Rosalia talked about the new project – the album LUX, which will include 13 songs in languages not native to the singer. Among them will be tracks in Ukrainian, German, English, Sicilian, Latin, Arabic and other languages.
“There was a lot of trying to understand how other languages work. A lot of intuitive, ‘Okay, I’ll just try to write and see how it sounds in another language. OK, let’s check it with the translator. If I rhyme this with this, will it make sense? No? Then let’s paraphrase.” Constant movement back and forth. The whole year was dedicated only to song lyrics and work with teachers who taught me the correct pronunciation,” the artist said.
According to the Spanish star, she spent a lot of time to realize what she planned. However, for now she is completely satisfied and is already looking forward to the premiere of her album LUX, which will take place on November 7.
“I lost count. I had to rewrite (many times – UNIAN) and then put it all together. It’s like a puzzle, like a maze. So it was very difficult, but also very nice to finish it and say, ‘Okay, now I’m calm,'” Rosalia commented.
By the way, Ukrainian singer Alina Pash probably joined this project. She intrigued with a statement on her Instagram blog:
“Friends, something very special is waiting for us in the new Rosalia album. In Ukrainian. It was one crazy day in Los Angeles that I will remember forever.”
