The law enforcement officers conducted large-scale special operations and blocked the sales channels of weapons, military supplies, and narcotics. 116 people received suspicions.
This is reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General (OGP).
In particular, 49 persons were notified of the suspicion of illegal storage and sale of weapons and ammunition throughout the territory of Ukraine, as well as misappropriation of weapons and ammunition (Article 263, Article 410 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Another 67 persons were informed of suspicion based on the facts of illegal trafficking of narcotic substances (Article 307, Article 309, Article 255 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
“As part of the investigation, the law enforcement officers conducted more than 129 searches, as a result of which weapons and ammunition were seized. These are 12 mortar and anti-tank mines, 187 grenade launchers and almost 180 shots to them, more than 85 automatic and machine guns, 20 units of home-made firearms, 124 detonators, 124 TNT shells, more than 170 grenades, 45 pistols, almost 38,000 cartridges, 15 kg of gunpowder and artillery shells.
Also, more than 69 searches were conducted in several regions of Ukraine, as a result of which psychotropic substances worth more than UAH 15.5 million were discovered and seized – this is 15 kg of amphetamine, more than 7 thousand MDMA tablets weighing about 3 kg, almost 1 kg of cannabis, more than 80 grams of a particularly dangerous psychotropic substance – PVP, cannabis, as well as UAH 100,000, mobile phones, SIM cards, bank cards, scales and draft records,” the report says.
According to the investigation, during 2024, the suspects used Telegram to sell narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances through “bookmarks” and the postal service, including in the frontline regions.
11 suspects are accused of selling drugs as part of a criminal organization.
“During the searches, the activity of the laboratory for the production of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances was suspended. Currently, the process of selecting preventive measures for the suspect is ongoing,” the OGP added.
