Oleg Kiper, the head of Odesa OVA, told about this at the briefing, writes “Ukrinform”.
According to Kiper, on the morning of November 17, half of Odesa’s subscribers were without power – as of 4:00 p.m., this figure had decreased.
“There are problematic places where electricity has not yet reached. It was impossible to start pumping stations, there was not enough power. The biggest problem is in Odesa district and Odesa, Podilsk district, but I hope that the problem with light will be solved partially during the day.
Regarding water and heat, we will try to solve it by morning,” said the head of the OVA.
Kiper added that in Odesa, November 18 and 19 have been declared holidays for schools.
“We will move the school days of November 18 and 19 to other weekends in order to give children a day off, and to use schools, in particular, as heating points. Parents who cannot leave their children will also be given a day off,” he explained.
According to him, 14 pumping stations are currently working in Odesa, their work has been extended until 10:00 p.m. Delivery of technical water is also organized. In the city, the police are on duty in an intensified mode, and they also ensure the safety of traffic at major intersections.
