Ukrzaliznytsia plans to increase the volume of transportation to the EU through Hungary

JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” will work on increasing the volume of transportation to the European Union through Hungary.

During the InnoTrans 2024 exhibition held in Berlin, Ukrzaliznytsia’s subsidiary UZ Cargo Poland and Rail Cargo Hungaria Zrt. signed a memorandum providing for an increase in the volume of intermodal and conventional rail freight transportation between Ukraine and Hungary.

“In the coming years, a significant increase in the volume of rail freight transportation between Ukraine and the EU is forecast, including intermodal and conventional rail transportation. The organization of these freight flows through Hungary is one of the priority areas,” the message reads.

The work of the companies includes the calculation of tariffs, the provision of rolling stock and the organization of transportation to increase turnover and provide clients with a full range of transport and forwarding services.

It is planned, in particular, to develop transportation between the EU and Ukraine through the Batyovo – Eperieske and Zahony – Chop railway crossings.

In addition, it is planned to optimize the use of assets in international cross-border transportation for European and broad-gauge wagons.
