“Ukrainian armored vehicles” will increase the production of artillery shells by building a new plant.
About this informs director of “Ukrainian armored vehicles” LLC Vladyslav Belbas.
“Ukrainian armored vehicles” will build a new plant in Ukraine for the production of artillery ammunition.
“We plan to open another plant in the country, which will allow us to significantly increase the volume of supplies,” said Belbas.
He declined to name the type of ammunition that will be produced at the new plant. At the same time, it was said that they do not plan to produce Soviet-style 152 mm shells.
It is reported that the company now produces hundreds of thousands of shells per year, producing the full range of mortar shells from 60 to 120 mm, as well as 122 mm artillery shells.
Belbas noted that the share of Ukrainian components in them has increased significantly over the past year, in particular, hulls and blasters are produced in Ukraine. In fact, the only imported components remain gunpowder and explosives.
It is noted that, in addition to shells, Ukrainian armored vehicles also produce 60 mm, 82 mm and 120 mm mortars, which are supplied to the Defense Forces.
According to Belbas, the capacity of the enterprise for the production of mortars will be loaded at 100% by the end of 2024. Next year, production is already contracted by 50-70%. At the same time, he noted that the utilization percentages are very conditional and do not reflect the real production potential.
