The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine concluded a number of implementation agreements with the Ministry of Defense of Denmark in the amount of about 535 million euros.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense, “European Truth” reports.
As noted by the Ministry of Defense, these implementation agreements clearly define the projects, as well as the terms of funding and arms supplies.
The documents finalize the agreements recorded in the letter of intent, which was signed at the end of September in Kyiv, the Ministry of Defense informed.
They provide for a number of purchases from Ukrainian defense companies for a total amount of approximately 535 million euros. The sources of funding are the governments of Denmark and Sweden and interest from frozen Russian assets.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the agency and the Defense Procurement Agency provided Denmark with comprehensive information on manufacturers, weapon efficiency, production capabilities and compliance with anti-corruption standards.
Therefore, the Director of the Procurement Policy Department, Hlib Kanevskyi, noted that as a result of the agreements, Ukrainian arms and equipment manufacturers, both state and private, will supply the Armed Forces of Ukraine with self-propelled artillery installations, attack drones, anti-tank weapons and missile weapons.
Thanks to the “Danish model”, which involves direct financing of producers, Ukraine has already received 50 million euros, and the production of self-propelled artillery installations was financed with these funds “Bohdana” for the Armed Forcesinformed the Ministry of Defense.
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov stressed that the “Danish model” of cooperation is not only solidarity, but also determination in supporting Ukraine’s struggle for freedom and sovereignty.
We will remind, in June Ukraine and Denmark signed a memorandum on the purchase by the Northern European state of weapons and equipment from Ukrainian manufacturers. Denmark became the first country to take such a step.
On October 28, Sweden announced about investment of 20 million euros to support the industrial base of Ukraine.
