Ukraine and Japan have signed a $ 58 million grant agreement – Kuleba

Ukraine and Japan have officially started implementing the fourth phase of the emergency recovery program. As reported Vice Prime Minister for Recovery-Minister of Community and Territories Development Alexei Kuleb, a corresponding grant agreement for $ 58 million was signed with the head of the Japanese Agency of International Cooperation (JICA) in Ukraine by Hideki Matsunag.

Within the three previous phases, the needs of energy, transport, agricultural sector, medicine, education, waste management, water supply and demining were provided.

The new, fourth phase also involves supporting critical areas, including humanitarian demining, energy infrastructure, drainage and resumption of facilities in the regions, the ministry reported.

According to Kuleba, since the beginning of a full -scale invasion of Japan has provided Ukraine with $ 12 billion in humanitarian and financial assistance. The total amount of projects in the cooperation of the Ministry of Development with JICA is about $ 700 million.

On December 24, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine reported that the State Budget of Ukraine received a tranche of $ 1 billion from Japan and the United Kingdom Within the World Bank Program in support of reforms. Of these, $ 567 million was provided under the guarantees of Japan’s government.
