Trump promised to block this deal and restore lost positions to the iconic company for the United States. “I am categorically against the once great and powerful US Steel being bought by a foreign company, in this case, Japan’s Nippon Steel. With a series of tax breaks and tariffs, we will make US Steel strong and big again! As president, I will block this deal,” he said elected president of the United States.
