The Tax Office issued a record number of fines for FOPs working with excise goods

In 2024, the State Tax Service conducted 16,119 in-room inspections of FOPs working with excise goods, for which it assessed fines of UAH 9.5 million.

According to the results of actual checks of FOPs working with excise goods, another 8,983 fines were imposed. This is a record number for the last five years.

This year, the average amount of sanctions fines decreased by 2.5 times, compared to 2021, and amounted to UAH 14,700.

Actual inspections are carried out at the place of work of FOPs to check compliance with labor laws, cash circulation, availability of licenses, etc.

For comparison: in 2020-2021, an average of 5,800 decisions were made per year, while the total amount of sanctions amounted to UAH 210 million. Last year, the number of decisions remained at the same level, but the total amount of fines decreased by 1.5 times.

Chamber audits are based solely on the figures indicated in the tax declarations and should reveal errors, overstatements or understatements of taxes in the submitted statements.

In 2023, the tax office recorded the largest amount of agreed fines based on the results of chamber inspections – UAH 21.96 million, which is 1.5 times more than in 2021.

The largest number of camera inspections over the past five years was carried out in 2020 – 33,882. However, in 2021, their number decreased by 1.7 times, and the amount of fines increased by 1.6 times – to 14.57 million UAH
