The Russian Federation continues gas supplies to Austria despite the promise to stop them

Russian gas was still flowing to Austria on Monday 18 November, although Gazprom cut off supplies to Austria’s biggest importer OMV due to a contract dispute: gas flows remained stable.”, — write: www.epravda.com.ua

Russian gas giant Gazprom said on Tuesday it would send 42.4 million cubic meters of gas to Europe via Ukraine – Austria still receives Russian gas.

This is reported by the Reuters agency.

European energy markets remain tense due to a dispute between Gazprom and Austria’s OMV, which led to a halt in gas supplies to OMV on Saturday.

Gazprom cut off supplies to OMV after the Austrian company threatened to confiscate some of the gas as compensation for an arbitration award it won in a contract dispute.

Despite this, daily gas supplies to Europe via Ukraine remain at normal levels, and gas continues to flow to Austria.

On Tuesday, orders for gas from Slovakia to Austria rose 6% compared to Monday, but remain 12% below the level recorded before the supply halt for OMV. Who exactly buys the gas, which was previously intended for OMV, remains unknown.

Applications for the supply of gas from Ukraine to Slovakia remain almost unchanged, as do applications for transportation from Slovakia to other countries, according to gas transmission system operator Eustream.

We will remind:

Russia’s Gazprom cut gas supplies to Austrian energy company OMV hours after Vienna said Russia had warned it would cut off the flow.
