The head of the Verkhovna Rada’s Budget Committee, Roksolana Pidlas, noted that in the event of an increase in non-revenue-supported expenditures in the 2025 budget, the International Monetary Fund will require Ukraine to increase VAT.

People’s deputy about this noted in the author’s column on EP.

“In particular, we have an understanding that in the case of an increase in expenditures that are not covered by real incomes, the IMF will demand from Ukraine an increase in VAT by at least 2 percentage points,” Pidlasa said.

She added that there will be no significant changes to the 2025 budget, and the project has been agreed with the IMF. In this context, in the event of an increase in expenditure, the IMF will require an increase in VAT by two percentage points.
