Providna Insurance Company, whose licenses were revoked in 2023, will repurpose its activities and change its name.
About this writes LIGA.net with a link to the company’s official documentation.
On December 19, a general meeting of the company’s shareholders will be held, at which they plan to rename the company from Providnaya to Provagroinvest.
From the types of economic activity, the KVED societies will exclude mentions of insurance, instead they will add four dozen others – mostly related to agriculture. The first KVED will be “Growing of grain crops (except rice), leguminous crops and oilseeds”.
SC “Providna” was among the leaders of the insurance market of Ukraine for many years. According to the Insurance TOP rating, in recent years – in the top twenty companies in terms of insurance premiums, and moreover – consistently in the top ten and even the top five.
According to the reporting as of December 31, 2022, the volume of insurance premiums of the company amounted to UAH 891.23 million, the value of assets – UAH 971.69 million, insurance reserves – UAH 462.14 million. The company’s market share in terms of insurance premiums is 2.7%.
The National Bank punished SC “Providna” by canceling licenses for failure to comply with requirements to eliminate violations of license conditions: the insurance company did not provide documents to assess the financial and property status of direct and ultimate owners in time.
Until 2014, SC Providna belonged to Rosgosstrakh. Due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the company decided to sell its Ukrainian “daughter”, now 99.9% of its shares belong to IIC Ukraine BV from the Netherlands. The ultimate beneficiary is Jakob Westerlaken.
