Jarek Neverovych, the former Minister of Energy of Lithuania and chief adviser to the President of Lithuania on environmental and infrastructure issues, became the head of the Supervisory Board of Energoatom. This is reported by Forbes Ukraine. The first meeting of the council, which according to the law was supposed to take place within 30 days after its formation on June 21, was formally opened on time, but was actually held only on January 17. At the meeting, decisions were made on the election of the deputy chairman of the board, the creation of the audit committee, the election of the secretary and the determination of the composition of the committee. Advertisement: The chairman of the audit committee was Mike Kirst, the founder and director of EuroAtlantic Partners, who previously held management positions at Westinghouse Electric Company. Timothy Stone, who was the third elected member of the board of supervisors, declined to sign the contract but is considering becoming an adviser. Stone is chairman of the British Nuclear Industry Association and Nuclear Risk Insurers. He was also an independent director of Horizon. One of the reasons for the delay in holding the meeting was the discussion of the level of remuneration of council members. The government refused to agree to the salary of 400,000 hryvnias per month agreed during the interviews and offered 100,000 hryvnias. “We agreed on the average market salary, as in the supervisory board of Naftogaz,” said one of the top managers. State NAEK “Energoatom” plans to build a new office near Kyiv in two years, which will employ about 750 specialists.
