The East European Partnership for Energy Efficiency and Environment Fund (E5P) will help implement projects on water supply in the frontline territories of Ukraine.
About this it is said in the notification of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.
E5P was initiated by Sweden back in 2009. Its donors were also Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, the Slovak Republic, Switzerland and the USA.
Within E5P was invested almost 1 billion euros.
“This partnership is focused on energy efficiency and environmental protection. Ukraine is sincerely grateful for the 250 million euros united in the E5P fund, especially in these difficult wartime times,” emphasized the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk.
According to Grynchuk, Ukraine needs help in the following areas:
- – thermal modernization of public buildings;
- – renewal of central heating systems;
- – solid waste management;
- – water and wastewater treatment;
- – environmentally friendly public transport.
