“Thus, the “transport visa-free” will operate at least until March 2027. This means that Ukrainian and European Union carriers will no longer need special permits for bilateral and transit transportation,” the Ministry of Community Development says.
According to the head of the department Oleksiy Kuleba, most of Ukrainian exports with added value are transported by road, and during the period of the agreement, the share of trade between Ukraine and the EU by road transport increased by almost 55%:
“I am grateful to our partners from the European Union for the constructive dialogue and understanding that the Agreement is beneficial to both parties, because liberalization ensures the sustainability of bilateral trade.”
The European Commission has confirmed that the “transport visa-free” will be valid until March 31, 2027. According to the executive body of the European Union, the agreement “significantly increased automobile trade between Ukraine and the EU, benefiting both economies.”
The agreement on the liberalization of cargo transport between Ukraine and the European Union, known as the “transport visa-free”, was signed for the first time in June 2022.
In April 2025, the Agreement on the Liberalization of Road Freight Transportation between Ukraine and the European Union extended until the end of this year.
