At the plenary session on Wednesday, December 4, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in its entirety draft law No. 9256-d on the liquidation of the Gambling and Lottery Regulation Commission (KRAIL) and strengthening control over the gambling business. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digitalization Mykhailo Fedorov. It is noted that the essence of the law is to reorganize the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (KRAIL) and remove the human factor from the process of issuing licenses. Digitize licenses so that they are issued automatically, according to clear criteria, and start implementing an online monitoring system. Advertisement: Instead of KRAIL, a new authorized body without a collegial status should be created by April 1, 2025. Deputy Yaroslav Zhelezniak pointed out that the adopted law provides for a ban on gambling advertising with certain exceptions: at night on television and radio, in the media and in search engines with a target audience over 21 years old. It is also prohibited to offer or provide reimbursement of costs for participating in gambling games, making phone calls and sending mass messages, offering free bonuses instead of placing a bet.
