At the Austrian shipyard ÖSWAG, the tests of the modernized ship of the Danube shipping company Kapitan Antypov have been completed, which is ready to return to the port of Izmail.
This was reported by Facebook general director of PJSC “Ukrainian Danube Shipping” Dmytro Moskalenko, transmits Ukrinform.
“Sea trials of the Kapitan Antypov have been successfully completed. The modernized vessel is being prepared for shipment from the Austrian Linz to Izmail,” the message reads.
According to Moskalenko, this is the first capital modernization in the history of the UDP, previously the company only repaired the fleet built in Soviet times.
After modernization, two new Mitsubishi main engines that meet the Euro-5 environmental standard, a new launch system, and two new Volvo Penta diesel generators were installed on the vessel.
Kapitan Antypov also received a new engine cooling system, an automated oil level control system, an exhaust gas cleaning system, etc.
“Kapitan Antypov can be considered a modern ship, because it meets the most modern European ES-TRIN standard. The ships of many European companies, built or modernized 5-10 years ago, do not meet ES-TRIN,” added Moskalenko.
The UDP management plans to show the results of the modernization to international donors in order to attract long-term financing on preferential terms. Currently, the company is awaiting a decision on the appropriateness of the agreement from the Ministry of Community Development and Territories of Ukraine.
