According to the World Bank’s estimate, it will take about 30 billion dollars to completely demine the territory of Ukraine. We are also paying special attention to humanitarian demining – the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said at a government meeting, reports UNN

“Due to the start of the sowing season, the demining of agricultural land is now a priority. We already have more than 80 certified mine action operators and more than 200 demining machines,” the Prime Minister said.

According to Denys Shmyhal, the plans for this year include carrying out work on technical inspection of territories with an area of 31,000 square kilometers.

The assistance of Ukraine’s partners is crucial in this issue, as it will reduce the time for demining Ukrainian territories from decades to years, Shmyhal said.

Earlier, UNN wrote that in just one week, Ukrainian sappers demined an area equal to 195 Mariinsky Parks in Kyiv.

It was also reported that a special training ground for testing new demining technologies, including artificial intelligence-based solutions, will be created in Ukraine. The Ministry of Defense, together with international partners, has already identified a location for its placement.
