Shmigal: Ukraine will receive $ 432 million to recover roads from the World Bank

Ukraine will receive assistance from the World Bank to restore transport infrastructure, Prime Minister Denis Shmigal said on April 2.

He referred to the relevant agreements within the framework of the Drive project (“Creation of sustainable infrastructure in vulnerable environments in Ukraine”), which was signed by the Ministry of Development and the World Bank in Kyiv.

“The project provides overhaul of roads and bridges in 19 regions, reform of national roads, installation of modular bridges, as well as technical assistance. Its implementation will be carried out by the State Agency for Recovery and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine, ”Shmigal said.

The Drive project, the head of the government, was approved by the World Bank Directors Council at the end of last month. Its financing includes $ 212 million from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development with the Support of Japan and $ 10 million from the trust fund, restoration, reform and reform of Ukraine.

According to the February Report of the World Bank, the Government of Ukraine, the European Commission and the UN on the assessment of losses and needs (RDNA4) that arose through Russia’s aggression, the need for Ukraine’s restoration over the next decade have to make $ 524 billion.
