The reconstruction of the railway track on the section “State border of Poland – Mostyska II – Sknyliv (Lviv)” has been postponed to 2026. This is stated in the operational plan of the Strategy for the Development of Border Infrastructure with the European Union and Moldova until 2030, Interfax-Ukraine reports. According to the plan, out of the 10.92 billion UAH needed for the implementation of the project, the first tranche of 4.27 billion UAH will be allocated only in 2026. Another 4.83 billion hryvnias will be allocated in 2027, and 1.81 billion hryvnias in 2028. The project will be implemented with funds from international technical assistance, funds from international financial institutions, the state budget and other sources not prohibited by law. Later it became known that Ukraine failed to attract financing from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for the implementation of the project. It was reported that the US Agency for International Development (USAID) is studying the possibility of financing 50% of the project cost.
