It is reported that the Ukrainian gas manufacturer exported in February.
Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko called biomethane exports an important step in strengthening of energy independence and integration of Ukraine into the European energy space:
“It not only opens new opportunities for our energy sector, but also contributes to the decarbonization of the economy and reducing the dependence on fossil fuels. Ukraine is ready to become a reliable supplier of clean energy for Europe. The Ministry pays considerable attention to the export of biomethane, which is important within the new business model of the natural gas and energy market of Ukraine as a whole. ”
The Ministry of Energy specifies that the volume of the first batch of biomethane to the EU is 67 thousand cubic meters.
The department adds that Ukrainian manufacturers can export biomethane to the EU through the Ukrainian gas transmission system, connecting biomethane installations to both gas transportation and gas distribution networks. The conditions and tariffs of gas connection and transportation for biomethane manufacturers are the same as for natural gas extras.
In February 2023 Ukraine and the EU signed a memorandum on strategic partnership in the field of renewable gases, biomethane, hydrogen and other synthetic gases.
