The Minister of Economy Yulia Sviridenko discussed initiatives with French officials and entrepreneurs, including the Minister of Economics, Finance, Industrial and Digital Sovereignty of France, Eric Lombard, during her visit to Paris.
“The parties jointly worked out applications and the government approved the first 19 projects at a strategic investment council meeting. These are protections in the field of health, energy, infrastructure, humanitarian mine and other areas, ”the Ministry of Economy says.
The selected projects are expected to be implemented within five to 16 months.
“We are grateful to France for the strategic partnership. This agreement provides Ukraine with 200 million euros through the Fund for Ukraine, which will be aimed at rebuilding critical infrastructure. Of these, 60 million will go to support energy. The program had considerable attention from the private sector, ”Yulia Sviridenko said in a comment.
She added that the total number of projects that were submitted for funding reached 600 million euros, which exceeds the amount of funding provided.
“That is why we look forward to expanding cooperation,” the minister says.
According to Sviridenko, the agreement will strengthen the energy potential of Ukrainian cities, among them – Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih and Zaporozhye. Financing will modernize their infrastructure, introduce digital solutions, restore damaged objects, diversify energy sources and move to green energy.
In addition to the infrastructure, according to Sviridenko, the funds will go for humanitarian demining. According to her, more than 138,000 square kilometers in Ukraine are contaminated with explosive objects.
She noted that the projects would jointly embody Ukrainian and French companies.
Governments of Ukraine and France signed A grant agreement to provide 200 million euros on critical infrastructure projects last October.
